As part of The Empire series of objects: this antique brass chandelier created of iron and glass uses the ideas of origami and geometry as a kind of mystical decorative language conjuring up both treasures of the past and the future. These are the jewelry of the collection, a precise and polished counterbalance to the more hand-hewn objects.

Sunday quiet late snack is a surprisingly good test of how naturally this chandelier fits the dining area. When friends are over, it simply feels like part of the room.

Our living room made the most sense once we had family over for dinner; the space felt much more welcoming. It settled into the room more easily than I expected. The overall setup feels intentional without becoming precious.

THE REVIEWS

Testimonials

  • Warm color and super cozy shape

We put this sofa in our front living room and it instantly made the space feel more finished. The caramel brown color works really well with our wood floors and older rug. It’s soft but still supportive, and the rounded shape makes it feel more unique than a regular couch. This was just a quick phone photo, but the sofa looks very close to what we hoped for.

  • Finally found a table that doesn’t make our room feel crowded

We have a pretty small living room, so I was worried this table might feel too big, but the oval shape actually works really well with our sectional. My husband set it up right after work and I took this photo before we even cleaned up the room properly. The top is easy to style, but what I like most is that the rounded edges make it easier to walk around, especially when the kids are running through here. The gold base also looks nicer in person than I expected — not too shiny, more of a soft brushed tone. Overall, it makes the room feel finished without feeling like a showroom.

  • A little dressier than our usual furniture

We put this in the guest room of our older house, and it made the room feel much less plain without having to redo everything else. The shell pattern is subtle in person, but it catches the lamp light in a really pretty way. The dark top is a bit deeper brown than it looked online, which actually works well with our old oak floors. One drawer was a little stiff the first few days, but it has loosened up since.
