  • Riempie [rempe] refers to a lace or leather strap, often used to craft traditional chair seats.
  • It’s a strip of leather, similar to webbing, that’s applied when wet, then dried and tightened to create a durable leather seat.
  • This design draws on this rich heritage, blending the strength and tactile nature of leather with the sleekness of metal and wood to infuse a contemporary feel.
  • This fusion of history and modern design creates a global, cross-cultural piece that functions as a cocktail table.
  • Through this design, we honor not just heritage, but the lineage that has shaped it over time.
  • From Africa to Europe, particularly Holland, where the original style emerged, this piece brings with it a rich history, transformed into a contemporary form that embraces multiple cultures and traditions.

One corner of the living room had never quite worked until this piece was there. The shape makes the seating area feel more relaxed and less formal. It ended up being one of the more useful choices we made for the room.

Our family room had a blank spot that needed something practical, not bulky. It has enough visual weight to anchor the room without taking it over. The room feels more complete now.

To my eye, nothing about it feels wasted; it looks good and handles the ordinary parts of the day. The profile keeps the overall look from feeling flat. The color tone is not identical to my screen, but it still blends beautifully with the room. It turned out to be the calmest part of the room.

THE REVIEWS

Testimonials

  • Warm color and super cozy shape

We put this sofa in our front living room and it instantly made the space feel more finished. The caramel brown color works really well with our wood floors and older rug. It’s soft but still supportive, and the rounded shape makes it feel more unique than a regular couch. This was just a quick phone photo, but the sofa looks very close to what we hoped for.

  • Finally found a table that doesn’t make our room feel crowded

We have a pretty small living room, so I was worried this table might feel too big, but the oval shape actually works really well with our sectional. My husband set it up right after work and I took this photo before we even cleaned up the room properly. The top is easy to style, but what I like most is that the rounded edges make it easier to walk around, especially when the kids are running through here. The gold base also looks nicer in person than I expected — not too shiny, more of a soft brushed tone. Overall, it makes the room feel finished without feeling like a showroom.

  • A little dressier than our usual furniture

We put this in the guest room of our older house, and it made the room feel much less plain without having to redo everything else. The shell pattern is subtle in person, but it catches the lamp light in a really pretty way. The dark top is a bit deeper brown than it looked online, which actually works well with our old oak floors. One drawer was a little stiff the first few days, but it has loosened up since.
