Inspired by the original Taraxacum conceived in 1960, the Taraxacum 88 Suspension from FLOS pays homage to its iconic design with a 1988 update. Crafted by the master Achille Castiglioni, this decorative hanging light fixture (S1 model) blends incandescent lighting and sleek polished aluminum triangles. Adorned with 20 equilateral triangles, each filled with 60 clear 25-watt globe lamps, it evokes the delicate bloom of a dandelion, offering both direct and reflected light. This fixture combines functionality with timeless elegance, perfect for community areas and lobbies.

The gathering area looks more pulled together without feeling any less lived in. It has been easy to live with on ordinary days.

For the open-plan space, I kept coming back to this suspension light after deciding we only wanted one noticeable change. My brother was more excited about the update than I expected, which made the change feel more real.

The main room did not need a statement piece so much as a finishing touch, and this light fit that idea. The everyday routine has been a better test than any first impression. It settled into the room more easily than I expected. It turned out to be one of the more satisfying updates we made.

THE REVIEWS

Testimonials

  • Warm color and super cozy shape

We put this sofa in our front living room and it instantly made the space feel more finished. The caramel brown color works really well with our wood floors and older rug. It’s soft but still supportive, and the rounded shape makes it feel more unique than a regular couch. This was just a quick phone photo, but the sofa looks very close to what we hoped for.

  • Finally found a table that doesn’t make our room feel crowded

We have a pretty small living room, so I was worried this table might feel too big, but the oval shape actually works really well with our sectional. My husband set it up right after work and I took this photo before we even cleaned up the room properly. The top is easy to style, but what I like most is that the rounded edges make it easier to walk around, especially when the kids are running through here. The gold base also looks nicer in person than I expected — not too shiny, more of a soft brushed tone. Overall, it makes the room feel finished without feeling like a showroom.

  • A little dressier than our usual furniture

We put this in the guest room of our older house, and it made the room feel much less plain without having to redo everything else. The shell pattern is subtle in person, but it catches the lamp light in a really pretty way. The dark top is a bit deeper brown than it looked online, which actually works well with our old oak floors. One drawer was a little stiff the first few days, but it has loosened up since.
